Overview

NordPass brings the Nord Security formula to password management: modern cryptography (XChaCha20), clean design, aggressive promo pricing and bundle economics with NordVPN and NordLayer. The apps are pleasantly simple, passkeys are supported, and the security fundamentals are sound. What it lacks is depth: fewer power features, no self-hosting, a younger audit and incident track record, and business admin that covers the essentials rather than excelling. As a cheap, calm first password manager it succeeds; as a power tool it is not trying to.

Strengths and weaknesses

What we like

  • Very low promotional pricing, especially bundled
  • Clean, approachable apps — great first manager
  • Modern XChaCha20 encryption, zero-knowledge design
  • Independent audits completed and published
  • Part of the broader Nord security ecosystem

What to watch

  • Fewer advanced features than 1Password or even Bitwarden
  • No self-hosting; no emergency access on all tiers
  • Younger track record than established rivals
  • Renewal pricing jumps after promos

Who NordPass is for — and who should skip it

Best for

First-time password manager users, Nord bundle subscribers, and price-sensitive families.

Probably not for

Power users, self-hosters, and enterprises wanting deep admin and a long track record.

Our verdict — 8.1/10

NordPass is the easy, inexpensive on-ramp: sound security in a friendly package. Buy it on promo as your first manager; graduate later only if you outgrow its simplicity.
